Paw
This is a project by studiomateriality that aims to please one of the most demanding audiences: pets – and their owners. Yes, you read that right. Paw (Pups At Wash) is a pet grooming salon that offers self-service tubs, as well as pet grooming, shop and laundry services for any pet owner. A jolly ride through fun & colour begins: the contrast between turquoise and orange brightens the atmosphere and creates a welcoming environment. A real treat for humans and animals. It is a simple yet defined and functional space, that floods the visitor’s gaze thanks to the extensive use of the mosaic tile. It was essential to create a perceptible flow, in order for PAW to be accessible for both animals and humans. Playful storage units and elements such as the distinctive signage in each room make the interaction with the space effortless and fun. A place that stands as a true friend in need for all its visitors.
This project is a great example of how design projects could be treated – by looking at them through a dog’s eye: if we can’t play with it, then maybe it doesn’t deserve our attention.
